Hazrat, born in 1971 in Afghanistan, is the founder and CEO of Daricha School. A renowned writer, linguist, and former diplomat, he has dedicated his life to promoting language, literature, and education in Afghanistan and beyond. In defiance of Taliban-imposed restrictions, Hazrat reorganised underground schools providing education to Afghanistani girls. Now residing in Canada, he continues his global advocacy for education, the right to education, and cultural preservation across borders.

Monica, an Afghan exile and accomplished Software Engineer in Silicon Valley, holds an honorary degree in Computer Science from San Jose State University. A passionate advocate for women in STEM, she mentors girls through robotics camps and leadership programs. Committed to empowering Afghan girls, Monica works to share her expertise and inspire the next generation of female tech leaders.

Khadija Haidari is the general manager of Daricha’s underground schools since January 2023. She holds a master’s degree in finance and banking from Kabul University. A passionate writer and journalist, she has published a short story collection and over 50 articles and reports. She currently works as a reporter, focusing on women’s stories and social issues.

Shafaq is a volunteer advisor at Daricha School and a legal professional, holding a Master’s degree in Transitional Justice, Rule of Law, and Human Rights from the Geneva Academy. Fluent in Farsi, English, and Turkish, he currently works at Addleshaw Goddard Ireland in Dublin. As an advocate for education, Shafaq supports Daricha’s mission, bringing invaluable expertise and commitment to educational rights.

Arezo is a journalist and storyteller originally from Kabul, Afghanistan, and currently based in Ireland. As the editor of Daricha Magazine and social media manager for Daricha School, she passionately amplifies marginalised voices, particularly focusing on the experiences and struggles of Afghanistani women. Through her journalistic work, Arezo advocates for education and highlights the transformative power of storytelling.

Mohaddesa Hassani, A Passionate former Daricha student and Education advocate. She initiated Daricha Online Tutoring for Girls in Afghanistan with an international team. Currently more than 600 girls are taking classes with 450 students and teachers from around the world. Mohaddesa got deprived of education like thousands of other girls in Afghanistan at the age of 15 and lived 3 years of her live under Taliban regime. The time she couldn't be seen, heard or named. She left Afghanistan on January 2025 and currently study Education at Porterville College CA. Her ultimate inspiration for her work is all the girls in Afghanistan who has no voice.
